Welcome to Vale Funeral Celebrant Services.
I’m Yvette Parsons, a funeral celebrant based in Auckland.
Trained at The Celebrant School, I’m committed to providing heartfelt and personalised ceremonies that honour and celebrate the life of your loved one.
In times of loss, it's essential to have a ceremony that truly reflects the individuality and spirit of the person who has passed. My goal is to create a meaningful and comforting farewell that brings peace and solace to families and friends. I’m here to support you through every step of this journey.
I’ll work closely with you to craft a ceremony that captures the essence of your loved one, weaving together cherished memories, stories, and traditions.
Whether you seek a traditional service or something more unique, I’m dedicated to ensuring that each ceremony is a true reflection of the life lived and the legacy left behind.
Thank you for considering me to be a part of such a significant moment in your life.
Together, we can create a beautiful tribute that honours and celebrates your loved one's life with dignity and grace.
What to expect
My role is to gently guide and support you as we create a ceremony that feels personal, meaningful, and true to the person you’re farewelling.
After your initial phone call or message, we’ll arrange a time to talk in more detail. I’ll usually meet with you and your family at your home, where you can share stories and ideas in a relaxed, familiar space. If it’s more convenient, we can meet via Zoom — whatever works best for you. This first meeting is a chance for me to listen carefully, learn about your loved one’s life, and understand what kind of ceremony you have in mind.
Together, we’ll talk about who might want to speak or read, and whether you’d like me to prepare a timeline eulogy or prefer family and friends to deliver all the tributes. I’ll ask about any poems, prayers, or symbolic elements you might wish to include — such as candle lighting, a table of memories, or live music. We’ll also discuss the use of recorded music or a photo montage, and I can guide you on how to coordinate those with the funeral director or venue, as celebrants don’t manage the technical side on the day.
After our meeting, I’ll send you an outline of what we’ve discussed — a clear plan of the ceremony, including who’s involved and what’s been suggested or agreed upon so far. I’ll stay in touch with you in the days leading up to the funeral, either by phone or email, to finalise details or make any adjustments. If it would be helpful, I’m happy to meet with you again in person or via Zoom to ensure everything feels right.
Most funerals last around an hour, so we’ll also talk about timing — making sure that everyone who wishes to speak has time to do so comfortably, and that the service runs smoothly within the venue’s schedule. A few days before the funeral, I’ll provide a final Order of Service for your review, so you can arrange printing if you wish to have printed copies available on the day.
On the day itself, I’ll arrive early to ensure everything is in place and to offer calm support as you gather. My intention is always to hold a warm and respectful space — one that allows family and friends to say goodbye in a way that feels authentic, comforting, and dignified.
